robert report: lipstick 411

I constantly get two comments about lipstick, so I want to make sure you have the complete 411 about lipstick and how it works:

Comment #1: I love how moisturizing this lipstick is, but it just does not last!

Comment #2: I love how long this lipstick wears, but it is very dry and not very moisturizing on my lips!

Here are the facts:

When a lipstick formula is very moisturizing it will not last as long on your lips. This is due to the fact that it has slide and all that wonderful moisture! It will keep your lips full and supple looking, but there is no way you will ever get long wear. SORRY!

When a lipstick contains less moisture in its formulation it will last longer, due to the fact that it has grab and adheres better. BUT, it could make your lips look chapped and less full, less supple, and less youthful. You might want to apply lip gloss over it to make it more beautiful…but lip gloss will shorten its life span as well! LOL!

For me, I care more about how it makes your lips look when it is on, not about how long it lasts. Therefore, I always prefer a more moisturizing formula, but you are the one who has to apply and wear it!

If you want to make a moisturizing formula last as long as possible, simply line and completely fill in your entire lip with lip liner before you apply your lipstick. The liner will help the color last longer!
